Richie Hearn Indy 500 quotes

INDIANAPOLIS -- Richie Hearn, No. 70 Meijer/Coca-Cola Panoz-Chevrolet, quotes following accident with Scott Dixon during the Indianapolis 500.

"There was a lot of jockeying going on in front of us," said Hearn. "I didn't see Scott. It was my fault. There was a lot going on out there and I just didn't see him. I feel bad for (owner) Sam Schmidt and the Meijer crew because they gave me a good car and we could have had a pretty good finish."

Hearn was released from the Speedway's infield medical center with an abrasion on the right side of his right knee. An ice pack was taped to the area and he was provided with crutches simply so he can keep pressure off the area.

Earlier, Hearn's vision was blocked by heavy traffic on pit road and he missed his pit stall during the first round of pit stops. He went around and pitted the next time but actually gained three positions during the sequence, from 21st to 18th. He stalled on his second stop and was preparing to pit for scheduled service when the incident occurred.
