| Jaques Lazier driving for Sam Schmidt Motorsports!
Jaques Lazier took over as driver for Sam Schmidt's team with the Richmond race. He immediately proved his value to the team by winning the his first IRL pole! After only his 3rd race with the team, he posted a 3rd place finish at the inagural IRL race in Nashville which his brother, Buddy, won. The team is certainly very excited about the remaining races and both team and driver are poised for continued success and a victory is certainly imminent.. |

An annoucement was made on February 9th, 2001 that Sam Schmidt will return to the Indy Racing League!! Sam's return will be as a team owner, with a yet-to-be-named driver for the 2001 Indy Racing Northern Light Series. Click here to see the press release.
