The $10,000 award is presented to the entrant with the best single lap time posted in a completed qualification attempt on Bump Day. • Junqueira has run a total of 14 laps (including qualifying) in the #33 car. • The #33 car was prepared and run today by Alex Tagliani's crew. Today is the first time the car/chassis has been on track this year. • Brendon Cleave is engineering the #33 entry for Junqueira. Brendon's normal role is as Damper Engineer for the #77 entry. • This is Junqueiras' third time as a 2nd day qualifier (2001-Ganassi, 2009-Conquest, 2010-FAZZT Race Team). Bruno Junqueira on Qualifying: "First I have to thank Bowers and Wilkins and TorcUP of Canada for stepping up at the last minute to make this possible. I also have to thank the FAZZT Race Team as they also made this possible. This month was short notice, but it got shorter today when we lost 20 minutes to get the car ready. So when I went to do the two installation laps and then three more laps the car was already fast.

Alex Tagliani’s Qualifying Results Position: 5th, Middle of Row 2 Starting Position Average Qualifying Speed (4 laps): 226.398 mph (Lap 1: 226.365, Lap 2: 226.628, Lap 3: 226.341, Lap 4: 226.226)
Pole Winner: Helio Castroneves/227.52 mph average
Media Notes on Qualifying: • Alex initial qualifying attempt in segment 1 was the top speed until Helio Castroneves bumped him from the pole at approximately 2:30 p.m. • Alex’s qualifying average in segment 1 was 226.392 mph. • Rob Edwards, Team Manager, chose 4th for Alex’s position in the 2nd segment of qualifying. • On Alex’s first attempt of the 2nd segment he ran a 226.258 mph. The team then waited approximately 30 minutes before rolling out for a 2nd attempt. In Alex’s 2nd attempt he ran a 226.398 mph average speed which would ultimately be his fastest of the 2nd segment. • Alex did make a 3rd attempt but did not better his qualifying average so the 2nd attempt was recorded and Alex is now going to start in the 5th position, middle of the 2nd row, for the 94th running of the Indianapolis 500.
Alex Tagliani on Qualifying: “I’m so proud of this team. The group of engineers and the crew has just done a tremendous job on this Bowers and Wilkins car. We spent some time today on the front row and ended up fifth here and to have this result at Indianapolis is just amazing.

On Pole Day at 4 p.m. the top-nine qualifiers will proceed to a second segment as a shoot-out for the Pole Position.
Alex Tagliani on today’s practice: “I feel like I’m sounding like a broken record but it was another perfect day. It’s been a dream week so far. The B & W boys have done such a great job. Last night I was in the garage by myself waiting for an interview and looking at the car, just going around and looking at every detail.
